MBPA invites you to a Town Hall discussion addressing interfacing with insurance panels. This first meeting will focus on sharing experiences, frustrations, successes, wisdom, etc. for those who deal with insurance, regardless of whether or not you are currently contracted with panels. Though this has always been a complex issue, it seems to be getting even more challenging in the wake of Covid. In the past couple of years, more and more clinicians seem to be leaving insurance panels because it is a time-consuming battle that is not worth the rates that seldom feel like fair compensation for our time (and all other resources we put into our work). As more and more mental health professionals leave panels, accessibility for members is drastically impacted in a time of unrelenting mental health needs.
Our hope in starting this conversation is to get a sense of clinicians’ experiences on which we can base some action and advocacy going forward to support fair pay/treatment of mental health professionals who want to continue to interface with or remain contracted with insurance panels.
